Event Description

Learn more about conceptual and fashion photography, compositing and post production during an intimate workshop retreat to Daylesford with Rob Woodcox and Jane Long. This 4 day experience will be hands-on, interactive, and an extremely immersive experience, showing you new techniques to better your photos and business. Whether you’re an experienced photographer or looking to enter the fashion or fine art market, this workshop is designed to help take your images to the next level.

 

THE PRESENTERS

Rob Woodcox

Rob Woodcox is a fine art and fashion photographer dually residing in New York City and Portland, Oregon. His passion for telling stories takes him traveling for business and pleasure on a regular basis, documenting experiences all over the world.

Rob has contributed to various successful projects including a short film festival Project Imaginat10n with Canon and Ron Howard, and Stories Worth Telling, a personal project that funded a new camp for foster kids. His work has been published in various magazines and online publications such as Vogue, Huffington Post, Popular Photography, ABC, Yahoo, Mashable, Buzzfeed and more.

Rob has taught over 60 photography related workshops worldwide, he has taught in over 15 cities around North America and over 10 countries internationally. He has reached an audience of over 1000 students in person and over a million people online.

Rob is passionate about highlighting and educating about social justice issues that touch us all and regularly creates personal work focusing on these topics.

 

Jane Long

Brisbane-based photographer and digital artist Jane Long combines photography and compositing to create surreal images that hover between reality and fantasy. Completely self-taught, she has worked with Photoshop since 1994.

Her first series “Self-Preservation” received several accolades as finalists for the Macquarie Photography Prize and semi-finalist for the Moran Photographic Prize.

Her next series “Dancing with Costica” shot her to international exposure with features on over 150 prominent photography and general interest websites and printed publications including ABC News US, Daily Mail, SLR Lounge, PetaPixel, Bored Panda and BuzzFeed. The series was exhibited at the Romanian Embassy in Canberra, at the Romanian Photo Festival and as a core artist at the Ballarat International Foto Biennale in 2015. Her work has also been shown in Stockholm, Hamburg, London, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Media interest in her work has continued with commercial work for Decca Records for the album artwork for Norwegian singer Aurora’s debut release.

She has taught workshops in post-production at Queensland College of the Arts, Ballarat International Foto Biennale, St Margaret's Anglican Grammar and has written articles for several magazines including Amateur Photographer UK and Photoworld.

Daylesford

The beautiful country town of Daylesford is located in the Goldfields Region of Victoria Australia, an hours drive north west of Melbourne, (the capital city of Victoria) and is nestled between the regional cities of Bendigo and Ballarat.
